Expecting on God?

I didn’t know where to express myself, so here’s a wild card in my fitness blog.

A friend of mine asked about expecting on God.. It struck a chord in my heart because I knew where she was coming from and I knew how she felt.

I lived trying to expect as little from people and from circumstance with the fear of disappointment and I feared expecting “too much” from God. My friend was right, less pain and you don’t end up getting hurt which just meant.. shallow relationships for me. I celebrated my being a strong independent single woman- who cared for only- myself.

"FITNESS" portion.

There was a time when I’d prioritize secondary things like gym over a friend in need, a family member who might want to bond, a “rescheduled” appointment, and the like. Anything not scheduled is to be “scheduled”.

At a church service, the preacher said, everyone will disappoint except God. Beauty will fade no matter how beautiful or handsome you are now, the body will degenerate, money is not stable and will never satisfy, children will eventually have their own families, husbands and wives will fail each other, businesses will have its lows.. right! only God CAN AND will satisfy. He’s THE one thing that satisfies. He’s THE only thing TRUE and CONSISTENT.

If some of you are like me who was disappointed and managed to be “smart” enough to build up impenetrable walls, trusting and expecting on God “wholeheartedly” becomes a challenge. So the question is HOW? TO WHAT EXTENT? REALLY? HOW CAN MY HEART TRUST GOD 100% when I do not know how? Can I hope? My heart buried in concrete- well duh.. how can i get myself out? It’s scary to be vulnerable again.. exposed.

For me -GOD is the answer. Because He first loved me. He has been knocking on my heart waiting for me to open.. My God to the rescue. =)

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.- Revelations 3: 20

1) He Is Father: which means He wants the best for me all the time.

Matthew 6:25-34

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry(AC) about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.(AD) Are you not much more valuable than they?(AE) 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?(AF)

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor(AG) was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?(AH)31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.(AI) 33 But seek first his kingdom(AJ) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.(AK) 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own

2) He knows me best. - Psalm 139

v. 13-14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me togetherin my mother’s womb.I praise you  because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;    your works are wonderful,  I know that full well.

3) He is a personal God.  Not only does He know me best and in my entirety, God cares

Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. - Luke 12: 7

4) God has a plan for me and He knows what He is doing!

Psalm 139: 16

Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained(A) for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Jeremiah 29: 11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

5) And He will take care of me because He is my Shepherd!

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd,I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
    he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;(L)
    my cup(M) overflows.
Surely your goodness and lovewill follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord

He gave up His Son for me because He loves me very much…

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?- Romans 8: 32

So when in doubt..

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.- John 3: 16

Something I have prayed before.. and sometimes have the need to pray again =) He is faithful because He makes sure I experience Him =)

Dear God, I pray for You to be personal to me. I invite You in my heart.. in my life. Dad there are times when I doubt You and I am so sorry for that. Shame on me.=( But Dad, I sincerely want to experience You with a new , pure warm beating healthy heart. I want to have childlike faith. I want to know how to expect on You. How to have a heart aligned to Yours. I want to understand how deep how wide how great your love me is because truthfully there are times when I have the need to see..to touch.. to feel. I know I only need faith and You being a gracious God will help me trust You. Dad sometimes life is tiring.. but that’s great because it reminds me that I am just passing through this earth.  I was in mum’s womb and it was just me and you.. my life will end and it will just be me and you again. Wow! something to look forward to.. spending forever with You.. no more tears.. no more pain.. wow and to experience You  , to see You, to touch You..!!!!=) Unimaginable bliss! but for now.. since I am on this earth, help me see You. Open my eyes. Allow me to experience You and hear You like never before! You are a personal God! Dad delight in me and help me experience You. I submit even the smallest percentage of unbelief in my heart. I choose to trust You. =) Thank you for loving me=) Thank you for knowing me best. Thank you for saving me from myself. You are amazing!

In Jesus name I pray,

"But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him," - 1 Corinthians 2: 9

Expect on God by knowing Him and His character=)

Extend your workout with 0 calories!

When we are well rested, we have more energy and are more focused to work hard-burn more calories! The more hydrated and the better we feel, the longer we can run, cycle, lift weights, and so on! I lost my water bottle recently so I ended up buying lightwater. It’s electrolytes enhanced image

water! To my sheer delight, I found myself panting less during my RPM class a.k.a. cycling class. I felt super energized and at zero calories!!! HA-HA. I stray away from energy drinks- full of carbs.. sugarrr.. coloring… gah! Energy drinks maybe for a marathon.. but not for a regular workout day- unless- you are a dude and you need those carbs while you work out to make sure you don’t burn off your muscles.

Anyway, i super like lightwater and it’s worth buying! =)

*I also started taking NU SKIN Life Pak for Women (I’ve never taken multivitamins in my life for the fear of gaining weight- a different blog will try it out first before commenting much but so far so good) at the same time I tried lightwater. It could have also helped improved my performance. =)

So easy to gain weight but so hard to lose=(( That’s why I’d still make sure to fit working out in my schedule despite being very busy this Christmas time… plusssss cakeeee is a weakness and come Christmas it seems to be everywhere!!! =( Cakeeee mmmm *twinkling eyes* hahha=) soooo cake= more exercise!

I suggest we all work out so come January, we won’t be too hard on ourselves trying to burn off so much excess weight. =) 5 pounds is easier to burn than 10! LET’ZZZ DO THIS!

I love YOH FROZ. <3I like eating it after work out or if I’m craving for something really sweet and decadent.. I try to run to YOH FROZ instead. hahah=)

Thank you YOH FROZ for my GCs=) This was taken at EDSA SHANG Rustan’s Supermarket. I like it there because it’s quiet and  it actually helps me buy only what I need in the supermarket because I don’t drool on everything I see and buy so much junk especially when I am PMS-ing. ;)

So before you do your supermarket shopping in Edsa Shang Mall Rustan’s Supermarket, grab a YOH FROZ- do your health a favor!=)

Carbs and Water Retention

Salt=water retention leading to weight gain.! It was always salt salt salt.

CARBS can also lead to water retention which may lead to weight gain!

Higher carbohydrate diets can lead to increased fluid storage while lower carbohydrate diets can lead to decreased fluid storage. This is because per gram of stored carb, between 3-4 g of water are sequestered in the body. In addition to this, higher protein intake may stimulate small additional fluid losses due to a need for an increased removal urinary urea. It’s for this reason that changing to high protein, low carb diet triggers weight loss. Decreased stored carb and increased urinary urea lead to initial water and weight losses ( paraphrased) -  Nutrition: The Complete Guide by John Berardi, PhD and Ryan Andrews, MS/MA, RD.

According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, complex carbs such as whole-grain foods can actually help you reduce water retention, while the simple carbs found in refined flour products such as white breads and some pastas can actually cause bloating. To cut down on water retention, eat leafy green veggies, green beans, asparagus, grapes and pineapple, which all have a diuretic effect. The UMMC also suggests you reduce your sodium intake, eat less red meat, avoid alcohol and consume antioxidant-rich fruits such as cherries and blueberries.

Are you flawed?

Everyone has flaws! It’s okay! Although I believe in accepting ourselves for how we are, I also believe that it’s okay to do something about things we can change.

This week I learned to ask for advice instead of being shy. The same goes for our characters. I think that’s it’s good to ask people how we can improve as a person because most of the time we don’t see our flaws. This is very humbling, but in the end, it makes us a better person.

So don’t hesitate to ask your derma, personal trainers, doctor, counselors, family, friends, etc for advice! ASK! DO IT!

Ex. Bra area problem which is more common for women! I asked about it and Ms. Lou, the super fit cycling coach of Fitness First RCBC said to do PUSH UPS,CHEST PRESS, LAT PULLS.. and I personally think rows will help.

She also said to do more cardio, and then tone by lifting weights.
